Mentors Needed for Citizen Schools (San Jose/Oakland)

Project Type

Mentor a student, Other

Brief Description of Project

Citizen Schools is a national education nonprofit. We partner with public middle schools to extend the learning day for students. Once a week, we bring local professionals into the schools to teach, what we call, apprenticeships.

Apprenticeships are semester-long hands-on learning projects led by volunteer experts, like you.

You help turn kids into young scientists, architects, lawyers, business owners, etc. – experiencing success with successful adults.

These apprenticeships transform lives, inspire careers and set students on a path of learning.

The final students’ showcase called the WOW! gives them the opportunity to share what they learned.

Brief Description of Needed Volunteer Responsibilities

We are looking for passionate, engaging volunteers who are looking to become more involved in the communities we serve.
